Met up with Z and Robanthoneee at the fish hatchery around 9. On the way to Brevard we saw piles of hail on 191 that had been plowed off the road from Wednesday evening's storm. Weather was humid and 52 degrees. We all pulled off the arm warmers after the first climb.

This is a perfect Pisgah loop. Not a whole lot of fireroad. A steady climb that gets you 1000 ft of gain without crushing your legs. No hike a bike. Awesome downhills. Roots, rocks, reggae. Switchbacks, get-backs, sidehills, rhodo-tunnels, technical creek crossings. Something for everyone. Lots of the Swank course was in our loop.
Reba Monkey had more fun on this ride than any of the other rides this trip. There was no double wide machine groomed trails in this loop, and that's a good thing. Lots of folks are rolling eyes at all the trails in these parts that are getting "maintained" into flow trails that better suit CX bikes than 29ers.
After the ride we hit the Hub in Brevard, a bike shop that has EVERYTHING in stock and local craft brews on tap.
Me and Dave an Rob brought in sandwiches and swilled pints while shooting the sh1t with local wrenches. The pints helped us work up appetites for buying accessories and knick knacks too.
